Skoda Auto is building on a strong year in Europe by rolling out significant upgrades to its popular electric SUV lineup. The Elroq and Enyaq, both top-selling EVs in 2025, will receive a comprehensive refresh for the 2026 model year, focusing on software, usability, and efficiency.
The updates aim to strengthen Skoda’s position in Europe’s increasingly competitive EV market, where the Elroq ranked second and the Enyaq seventh among best-selling electric vehicles last year.
Strong Momentum Across Europe
The Elroq has quickly become a standout performer. With more than 95,000 deliveries in 2025 and strong early-2026 sales momentum, it has already proven its appeal across key European markets. It even claimed top EV sales positions in multiple months and secured major industry awards.
Meanwhile, the larger Enyaq continues to deliver consistent results, with nearly 80,000 units sold in 2025 and over 300,000 total deliveries since launch. Key markets include Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK.
Next-Gen Infotainment and Digital Ecosystem
For 2026, both models receive a redesigned Android-based infotainment system. The new interface features a cleaner home screen with grid layout, faster search and customizable shortcuts and expanded personalization options.
A major addition is the integrated app store, bringing popular services like Spotify and YouTube directly into the vehicle, alongside apps for news, weather, and even casual gaming.
Digital Key and Smarter Connectivity
Skoda introduces a digital key for the first time. Using the MySkoda app, drivers can:
– Lock, unlock, and start the vehicle via smartphone
– Share access securely with family members
– Store the key in a mobile wallet
This brings the brand in line with premium EV competitors offering phone-based access.
Improved Charging with Powerpass and Plug & Charge
Charging gets a major usability boost. Skoda’s Powerpass network is now deeply integrated into the navigation system, offering:
– Real-time charging station data, pricing, and ratings
– Filters for providers, speed, and availability
– Access to around 1 million charging points across 28 European countries
With Plug & Charge, authentication becomes seamless—no apps or cards required. The feature also extends to compatible home wallboxes.
Enhanced EV Experience via MySkoda App
The MySkoda app now provides deeper insights into driving and energy consumption. It also syncs seamlessly with the vehicle, allowing route planning with charging stops, access to favorite destinations and history and integration with Google-based points of interest.
Skoda’s digital assistant, Laura, further enhances route planning by combining navigation with charging and real-world stops.
V2L and Improved One-Pedal Driving
Both models now support Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), enabling the car to power external devices like camping gear, power tools and E-bikes.
One-pedal driving has also been refined, offering two levels of regenerative braking for smoother deceleration down to a full stop.
New “Simply Clever” Features
Skoda continues its practical approach with several hardware upgrades:
– A new 21-litre frunk for extra storage
– Wireless charging up to 25W using Qi2 standard
– USB-C ports delivering up to 45W
Additionally, a new “Tips” app inside the infotainment system helps drivers discover features through short guides and videos.
Travel Assist 3.0 and Advanced Safety
Driver assistance gets a major upgrade with Travel Assist 3.0, which includes:
– Improved lane guidance and smoother speed control
– Enhanced Assisted Lane Change
– Emergency Assist capable of pulling over automatically
New radars and sensors improve detection of vehicles, cyclists, and even e-scooters at complex junctions. An interior camera adds driver monitoring via eye-tracking.
LFP Batteries for Greater Efficiency
A key technical update is the introduction of LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) batteries in entry-level variants like the Elroq 60 and Enyaq 60.
Benefits include lower production costs, longer lifespan and better suitability for daily charging.
Production is supported by a new battery facility in Mladá Boleslav, now the largest BEV battery system production site within the Volkswagen Group.
Performance and Charging Specs
Both models continue to offer competitive performance across variants:
– Up to 250 kW output in RS versions
– 0–100 km/h in as little as 5.4 seconds
– Fast charging from 10–80% in 26–29 minutes
– Towing capacity up to 2,200 kg (Enyaq RS)
These figures keep the Elroq and Enyaq firmly competitive in the electric SUV segment.

With the 2026 updates, Skoda is clearly focusing on usability and real-world practicality rather than radical redesign. From smarter charging and improved software to cost-effective battery technology, the upgrades make both the Elroq and Enyaq more appealing to a broader range of EV buyers.
