BMW has officially confirmed pricing and key details for the all-new 2027 BMW iX3 50 xDrive, the first production model based on the brand’s next-generation Neue Klasse platform.
The iX3 Neue Klasse electric SUV will start at $61,500 (plus $1,350 destination) when it reaches the US market in September, positioning it as a high-tech, long-range contender in the premium EV segment.
Order books are already open via BMW’s online configurator, with reservations requiring a $1,000 deposit. First customer deliveries are scheduled for late September.
Up to 434 Miles of Range and 400 kW Charging
The iX3 50 xDrive introduces sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology, bringing major efficiency gains and performance improvements. A new battery architecture using cylindrical cells, combined with an 800-volt system, reduces energy losses while boosting charging speed.
Depending on wheel and tire setup, the iX3 delivers up to 434 miles of range, placing it among the longest-range electric SUVs in its class.
Charging performance is equally impressive. With a peak rate of 400 kW, the iX3 can add around 185 miles of range in just 10 minutes, while a 10–80% charge takes approximately 21 minutes at compatible DC fast chargers using the standard NACS port.
Neue Klasse Tech: Panoramic iDrive and “Heart of Joy”
Inside, the iX3 debuts BMW’s next-generation digital experience, headlined by the Panoramic iDrive system powered by BMW Operating System X. The setup includes a full-width display concept and a redesigned user interface aimed at simplifying driver interaction.
At the core of the driving experience is BMW’s new “Heart of Joy” control unit, designed to unify drivetrain, braking, and energy management systems. The result is sharper responsiveness and what BMW claims are class-leading driving dynamics.
Standard Features and Interior Options
Even in base form, the iX3 50 xDrive arrives well equipped. Highlights include a multifunction steering wheel, ambient lighting, wireless charging, and full smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Driver assistance systems are comprehensive, with features such as adaptive cruise control with steering assist, lane keeping, blind-spot monitoring, and forward collision mitigation included as standard.
Interior finishes range from Black and Digital White to more distinctive options like Castanea and Agave Green, all trimmed in perforated Veganza upholstery.
Packages and Customization
BMW offers a wide range of upgrade packages to tailor the iX3:
– Comfort Package ($1,500): Adds heated steering wheel, panoramic glass roof, and upgraded seats
– Driving Assistance Professional ($2,500): Introduces highway assist, traffic jam assist, and automated lane changes

A New Benchmark for BMW Electric SUVs
The 2027 iX3 50 xDrive signals a major step forward for BMW’s EV strategy. With its combination of long range, ultra-fast charging, and next-generation software, the Neue Klasse platform sets the tone for future models across the lineup.
At just over $61,000, the iX3 aims to balance premium positioning with competitive value—especially considering its range and charging capabilities. As deliveries begin later this year, it will play a key role in shaping BMW’s electric future in the global market.
